Joaquín Torres García (28 July 1874 – 8 August 1949) was an avant garde Uruguayan/Catalan artist ("l'artista uruguaianocatalà Joaquim Torres Garcia") painter, sculptor, novelist, writer, teacher and theorist since 1900, pioneer of the renaissance of Classicism, champion of , and muralist.
